If you have followed the steps above and your controller does not function in ESO you may have to reinstall the controller's drivers or software.

If you own an Xbox One S controller with Bluetooth, you can use it without any additional software or hardware.

If this does not resolve the issue, follow the steps below to test your controller and ensure it is set as the preferred device. Excited I go back to start up minecraft and a big fat nothing! Went back into my controller driver (listed in the link earlier in this post) to turn on the setting "Pretend to be an Xbox 360 controller". I realised that the controller wasn't communicating with that software. You can also use the Xbox One in wireless mode with Android if. Next, I realised I could check the programming in ControllerMate to see if the keys were registering through that programming. Xbox One/360 Controllers: Nvidia supports both Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers in wired mode on PC, Mac, Android, and the Shield. Rebooted a few times just to check and still no control with my xbox one wired with Minecraft. Nothing, Minecraft was not picking up anything. I went in and changed out the keybindings in Minecraft to the adjusted ones you had written. After reboot, I started up ControllerMate, checked to make sure my screen had all the same things as your screenshots had then started up Minecraft. Restarted my computer bc installer suggested I do that. It’s nothing too tricky, though, and you can pull it off with a bit of patience. While the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 will play nicely with your Mac over Bluetooth, the Xbox One controller will take a bit more effort. I downloaded and installed ControllerMate with no issue and was able to register it just fine as well. Luckily, you can use a variety of controllers on your Mac, including your Xbox One Controller. This works well with my controller and I've checked multiple times to make sure it is reading my xbox one wired controller.

Except prior to this I had to install the driver for the xbox controller. I'm not sure if you even check this anymore, but I figured I'd give it a go since I literally cannot find anything useful for the whole controller/minecraft/mac issue.
